Galtung Triangle

 One conflict that comes to mind is the one between Armenia and Azerbaijan over Nagorno-Karabakh, which was a region between the two states that housed ethnic Armenians. Tensions were high as of last year when a 44 day war between the two states cropped up, however the contradiction manifested between the two states have been around since the early 20th century, starting with ethnic division creating latent levels of attitudes and assumptions, then came the Russian Empire in which the states lost internal sovereignty and combined with the underlying latent attitudes escalated to more violent manifest behaviors such as the Armenian Genocide. After this came Soviet era and from there both states gained independence and due to the unsolved raw tensions the two states went into all out warfare in the 90's and picked back up in September of 2020 with the conflict over the Nagorno-Karabakh. This started with a skirmish that ended up being a surprise attack from Azerbaijan on the 27th of September, from there Azerbaijan proceeded to advance troops forward to the Armenian border and absorbed Shusha on 11/8/20 which was about 10 miles outside of Stepanakert (Armenia's capital)- continuing the limitation of war until 11/10/20 the date when all hostilities were set to end due to a peace treaty signed the day before by leaders of Azerbaijan, Armenia, and Russia from this Azeri's received the Agdam District. This elite peacemaking allowed the price process to finally begin to prevail followed by agreement, normalization, and reconciliation going forward, however much work will need to be done in order to completely achieve a higher level of peace due to the general attitudes both states have had toward eachother in the past century.

COVID-19 Blog

As the spread of COVID-19 becomes greater many opinions on how to respond to this global pandemic have surfaced. Just a few months ago much of the population in the United States felt unthreatened by the virus as it spread through China, being concentrated in Wuhan, and later spreading in Europe. It was not until the virus quickly erupted in the United States that we each understood the true severity of this pandemic. Now we are seeing how individuals are being greatly impacted by this virus as we are all being asked to stay home and the everyday parts of our lives have been flipped upside down. SARS CoV-2, COVID-19, and The World

It's no secret that right now the SARS CoV-2 is wreaking havoc across the world. As of today, the United States has surpassed China as the nation with the most cases of the novel coronavirus, with over 86,000 cases in our country to date. This is all pretty crazy, especially considering that this is all because of a pathogen that supposedly started with either bats or pangolins (the only mammal in the world known to have scales) in a small localized region of China. Of course, it's not only the health effects that are wide-reaching; the social effects are also just as prevalent.
