The impeachment process is something that many people commonly mistake as simply the president is kicked out of office and someone else becomes acting president.. As defined by the article I chose, linked below, impeachment is a process that allows government officials to hold other government officials accountable for possible offences they may have committed while in office. After one is impeached, they are then required to go to trial in the Senate in order to ultimately decide whether they are guilty or innocent. Trump was accused of seeking help from the Ukranian government in order to get himself re-elected as well as obstructing congress, who was investigating him at the time. Regarding Ukraine, there were a couple of unlawful allegations. The first was that he allegedly held back millions of dollars worth of military aid to Ukraine and also put forth a proposition, allowing the Ukrainian president a meeting at the White House as more incentive for his master plan. Witnesses also attest that Trump was in talks with the Ukraine to announce a public investigation on Joe Biden, solely because if Joe Biden was elected as the Democratic candidate, Trump would likely lose the next election. The president was acquitted on both charges. It is very doubtful that Trump would ever come close to being removed from office as the Republicans have a majority of members, being 53 to 47 in the senate. The mere fact that these charges are well in the realm of possibility is frightening in itself. Even though these are all allegations and everything is speculation, I think all these accusations aren’t baseless. As in, there must be a reason why Trump is so constantly criticized for what he does. I believe he is worthy of this criticism, especially in light of his response to the coronavirus outbreak we are all currently living through.  The integrity of our president is a tough subject to handle, especially within our divided country.

As the spread of COVID-19 becomes greater many opinions on how to respond to this global pandemic have surfaced. Just a few months ago much of the population in the United States felt unthreatened by the virus as it spread through China, being concentrated in Wuhan, and later spreading in Europe. It was not until the virus quickly erupted in the United States that we each understood the true severity of this pandemic. It's no secret that right now the SARS CoV-2 is wreaking havoc across the world. As of today, the United States has surpassed China as the nation with the most cases of the novel coronavirus, with over 86,000 cases in our country to date.
