Why wealthy people suck... just kidding

I do believe behavior and money are intertwined. There are specific examples that come to mind, some good and some bad. To begin, once someone becomes uber wealthy, psychologists have proven their attitude changes, they seem to have less sympathy and empathy. While this is true, there are some people who use some of their money for good, and give their servers ultra large tips, or give homeless people money for rent. That occurrence is rare though, as the amount of rich people who hoard their money, and are sticklers about it are much more common. Through the same experiment i mentioned before, done by psychologists with the journal, Psychological Science, found people with less money to be better at reading facial expressions, a sign of empathy. Wealth has been proven to cloud moral compass as well. UC Berkley did a study of who abided by the law of stopping at stop signs, and found luxury cars stopped 4 times less than other cars. Money is very closely, if not the deciding factor, tied to social status. Moving away from this, when dealing with money, I see behavior affecting the use of money in many ways. A personal example that comes to mind when thinking about this is after hurricane Harvey when my house flooded, a family “friend” of ours lent us their house to stay in for “as long as we needed”. A week later, when they realized they could be getting paid much more rent than we were giving them, they decided to kick us out. The concept of money was worth more to this family than compassion toward  friends that just lost everything. Leaning more towards the reading, one smart behavior I noticed was the Medicci family, who got very wealthy through banking, focusing on bonds during the war. Anticipation and thinking ahead is very important when dealing with money, like we see today with buying and trading stocks.
