The Problem with the Booming Population
We aren't producing food in a sustainable way!
The world's population is expected to grow near the 10 billion mark by 2050, because of this the world needs to consider a remarkable change to farming and how food is produced. I know, simple enough. Even with the large amount of crops and thanks to agriculture we have access to almost half of the world's vegetable land. The only issue is that the 820 million people either do not have access to this or can't have access to a healthy structured diet. The world has to produce 30% more food on the same land area and prevent global warning and deforestation. Again, sounds so easy. We have four possible requirements to change our global food crisis. 1. Reduce the food that is lost or wasted due to shelf life. 2. Consumers need to go vegan! 3. Better crop breeding techniques. 4. fixing our fisheries management. The global food crisis is one of the scariest issues we are facing today. The world either needs to change the way we produce food or fix our demographics. Which I fear is something we cannot fix. Well, there is the elephant in the room... COVID-19. This virus can differently help with demographics to put it in the simplest terms, anyone over the age of 50, weak immune system's are at high risk. Meaning if these groups of people die we will have enough food and we can fix our over population problem and our food problem. This does have a tragic effect on our community and obviously this are terrifying aspects to COVID-19. It's scary to think about the people in our lives over the age limit and that have those rick factors.
