Someone's in a peach. It doesn't look great.

The impeachment is big yikes.
The impeachment, instead of uniting side to a moral ground has further polarized the political parties.Republicans who are so focused on a decentralized and less powerful government are now supporting something that will increase presidential power and prevent him from being held accountable for his actions.Trump has already done so many terrible things and still gotten off. It’s just one mess after another, and if he gets discharged this will once and for all prove that he can do whatever he wants and not face the consequences. This will set a terrible precedent for future presidents and further deteriorate the dignity of the office. The case seems so obvious and clear of the wrong doings on Trump’ behalf. The obstruction of justice and abuse of power is so blatant, it’s so ridiculous how Republicans still defend the president. The amount of effort being put in by Republicans to try their best to angle the conversation to defend Trump’s actions is reprehensible. They claim that there isn’t proper due process on the Democrats’ side by not talking to enough witnesses, and then vote against hearing witnesses. They are doing anything and everything they can to reframe the argument because the plain facts are that there is very evident wrongdoing on the president’s behalf. It is sad that the polarization has gone so far that Republicans feel like they have to so morally defunct themselves just to stay in power. The continuing circumstances of the impeachment I find so depressing because even though I feel like it is worthwhile to exercise the proper process of justice to uphold the American system, I know that it is likely to all be in vain. The grim reality of the situation is that due to the red majority in Senate, Trump will be acquitted. He won’t face any sort of consequence for the abuse of his station, and he is going to carry out his term. Because the people have already decided which side they’re one, and no facts will change the Trump supporters’ minds, there is a very likely reality of Trump being reelected. This strongly hurts my faith in the democratic process, and I continue to lose hope in the good will of our governmental institutions as the days go on.
