UN
In October of 2018, the United Kingdom and the U.A.E of Saudi Arabia announced that they will be giving $70 million US dollars to UNICEF to support education in Yemen. The money will specifically go to monthly cash stipends for unpaid teachers. According to the UNICEF executive director," more than 135,000 Yemeni teachers have not revieved their salaries in more than two years". Since there is a lot of war going on in Yemen, school is where kids feel like they have some normalcy in their lives. Because of this, teachers need to be able to stay in the classrooms. This is one of the main reasons why UNICEF is giving so much money to education in Yemen.

Collective Security News
In June of 2019, the UN published an article about sexual violence and how it relates to collective security. According to the UN Security-General, " Sexual violence is a threat to our collective security and a stain on our common humanity". This was one of the many things he said in his speech at the International Day for the Elimination of Sexual Violence in Conflict. He said that the effects of sexual violence can ripple across generations through trauma, stigma, poverty, health issues, and unwanted pregnancy. He also said that survivors should have their needs recognized.

International Treaties News
According to an article by U.S. News, the U.S. is going to withdraw from the IMF Treaty, which is the international agreement that governs the development of nuclear weapons. Secretary of State Mike Pompeo announced that the U.S. will not comply with the Cold War era, Intermediate-range Nuclear Forces treaty. His reason for announcing this was that he was acting on an ultimatum. The IMF Treaty was with Russia and was key to controlling nuclear weapons, so the U.S removing itself from the treaty runs the risk of a new "nuclear arms race" with Russia. Donald Trump released a statement shortly before the announcement stating that Russia had, in fact, been violating the IMF Treaty for too long.
