Let Impeach Trump!
First, before I start this blog a little song I found that I personally love. It's Impeachment Hearing Eve! Now, let's start with some background information. November 8th 2016, the day America fell. Hard. Thanks to our founding fathers, the electoral college was created and Donald Trump was elected. Even though he did not get the popular vote, was completely underqualified for the job title “President of the United States” (or any job really), is openly racist, sexist and has unclear morals. He got the job. In the past 3 years he has been cleaning house and having a team of republicans on his side to basically let him do whatever he wants. But, on December 18th 2019 the House of Representatives began the Impeachment trials. For the past several months (feels like years) the House of Representatives have been investigating Trump and his illegitimate actions. Trump really dropped the ball on this one. President Trump asked the President of Ukraine to take actions that will benefit trump in the upcoming election. He betrayed his oath of office, national security, and the integrity of our elections.
Currently, we are waiting on the Senate trial. Now impeachments are… possible but rare. There has only been 2 trials in history, the Constitution requires senators to become jurors who will decide whether the president will be removed from office due to the abuse of his power. The only issue is that the only way for president Trump to be impeached is if four republican senators cross party lines and vote on the democrats side. Honestly… and probably obviously I hope Trump gets impeached. He is toxic, killing our environment and making America some kind of joke, Deep-down I feel like Trump will not get impeached. I think it is too late for the republican party to get a candidate together for the upcoming election. I remember when Trump got elected and I thought that there was no way this is happening and yet here we are. I will be able to vote in our upcoming election and I will be voting for the democratic party. My parents think I am being irrational and unreasonable but I think I have never been more rational. https://www.washingtonpost.com/politics/2019/12/18/house-is-voting-impeach-trump-what-happens-next/?arc404=true#SectionOne
