Impeachment Blog
In all of United States history, three presidents have been impeached by the House of Representatives. The constitution gives The House Of Representatives full power to impeach any standing president, as has been shown in the last six months of Donald Trump's impeachment process. As of now Donald Trump has been officially impeached, and is now proceeding though a Congress trial that could result in his removal from office. All of these proceedings that have blasted the news for months, began with a simple phone call from Donald Trump to Ukrainian President, Vlodomry Zelenski. In this call Trumps requests President Zelenski to look into one of the 2015, and now 2020 candidates, Joe Biden. In this he dangled military aid as a bargain for the Ukranian President. All of this emerged from an unnamed whistleblower who wrote a letter that kicked of the impeachment trials in September. Many politicians, especially Democrats, are equating this an abuse of power within the presidency, and a move of personal gain that could risk a national security breach. The proceeds have been long and haggling, with Trump not showing much interest towards the matter in the media. He has possessed and air of confidence throughout the process, and has not gone before the Senate.
My opinion in this matter is that I've grown so tired of hearing it on the news over and over and I really couldn't care less at this point. He has been impeached by the House of Representatives, and will probably not be convicted of any crimes or removed from office, and therefore it will not affect me. However, I hope to sweet Jehoba that he win in the next election and I have a deep set fear that he will. So, with that knowledge I hope that what comes out of these proceedings is a new president for 2020.
